The 20th biennial conference of the DSNA will meet in at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, B. C., Canada, jointly with the 9th International Conference on Studies in the History of English, June 4-7, 2015.
The joint conference theme of DSNA-20 & SHEL-9 is “Multilingual Approaches”. Scholars are encouraged, wherever possible, to foreground any bi- or multilingual aspect in their work in as far as present. In keeping with the traditions of both conference series, the theme is merely a recommendation: all topics, regardless of the conference theme, are invited and will be given equal weight in the adjudication process.
Following successful SHEL conferences in Provo, UT (2013), Bloomington, IN (2012) and Banff, AB (2009) and successful DSNA meetings in Athens, GA (2013), Montreal, QC (2011) and Bloomington, IN (2009), this first joint meeting of these two associations is intended to provide opportunities for synergies between the fields. Meetings are scheduled on 5 June (all day), 6 June (all day) and 7 June (half day), with a pre-conference excursion and an opening reception on 4 June.
